Inaugural EcoLiving Jubilee To Highlight Green Living In Brevard

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – ‘Eco’ and ‘Green’ are more than just buzzwords so its no surprise that environmental awareness and sustainable living practices are becoming more prevalent in our society.

The award-winning film "Gimme Green," a documentary that examines the American obsession with the residential lawn, will be shown at 6 p.m. on a large outdoor screen. Event sponsors include Lighting Science, Bob Steele Chevrolet, Sunbay Fitness, Palm Bay Kayaks, Keep Brevard Beautiful, Riverwalk Nature Center, Recycle Brevard!, and the Reusable Resource Adventure Center. Brevard County Parks and Recreation would like to celebrate these ideals and the local businesses that promote and embrace them during the inaugural “EcoLiving Jubilee.”

This festival highlighting sustainability will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Kiwanis Island Park, 951 Kiwanis Island Park Road, Merritt Island.

Exhibitors will showcase the latest in green living technology and practices. Food trucks, farm-to-table restaurants, and local growers will be on hand to provide the freshest in seasonal, locally grown, and organic cuisine.

Eco activities and live music from Jeremy Baker will be available throughout the day.
