BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Thomas Alan Youngman, 36, has been arrested by the Rockledge Police Department and charged with Attempted Murder, First Degree; Aggravated Battery With Great Bodily Harm; Kidnapping; and Resisting LEO Without Violence.

According to the Rockledge Police Department, the agency received a 911 call at about 6:10 p.m. yesterday evening regarding a complaint of a male subject who had battered his stepmother. When the officers arrived, they located the 57 year-old victim at the complainant’s residence at 909 Beaverdale Place in Rockledge, badly beaten and bloodied.

‘STUFFED INTO TRUNK’

According to a Rockledge Police statement, the victim said Youngman beat her about the head and face, slammed her head on the garage floor, stuffed her in the trunk of his vehicle and told her he was going to kill her.

Youngman began to drive off with the victim in the trunk, but stopped prior to leaving the residence to confiscate her cell phone, according to the police statement. The suspect then dragged the victim out of the trunk by her hair and began to beating her again inside the garage and house. The victim was able to eventually escape and run to a neighbor’s house to seek help.

According to the Rockledge Police Department, Youngman was not on-scene at the time of the officers’ arrival, however, returned to the home later where he was taken into custody, transported to the Brevard County Jail and charged with multiple crimes.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
