term ends March 3, 2017
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA — Florida Governor Rick Scott appointed Michael Cadore to Brevard County Housing Authority.
Cadore has served as community relations coordinator for Rockledge Police Department and is currently the criminal justice coordinator at Eastern Florida State College.
Cadore fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning September 25, 2013, and ending March 3, 2017.
The Housing Authority of Brevard County (HABC) also manages the operations of the Melbourne Housing Authority (MHA). The organizations provide services to those in need of an affordable housing alternative.
According to the HABC and MHA website, the organizations offer a “hand up” rather than a “hand out” approach, thereby enabling and encouraging Brevard residents to graduate into a more permanent housing solution – which may include home ownership.
Among their specific goals are: Increase ability of working families to lease public housing; accelerate physical improvements; improve curb appeal through modernization of unit exteriors; provide housing that exceeds HUD Housing Quality Standards; expand the capacity and outreach of our educational and training partnerships; and provide increased opportunities for Tenants Education and Training.
