Corbin Jackson Earns Second SSC Player of the Week

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Redshirt sophomore Corbin Jackson continues to pile up accolades in his debut season at Florida Tech (8-1, 1-0 SSC) as the Rockledge, Fla. native was named the Sunshine State Conference’s Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 2-8. The honor is his second weekly nod of the season.

Jackson finished with 21 points, 17 rebounds and four blocks in a 103-81 rout over Lynn University in FIT’s conference opener on Saturday. The forward brought the crowd to a screaming ovation after a posterizing dunk over a Fighting Knight defender. The play was No. 4 on Saturday’s 1 a.m. ET live edition of SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays.

The double-double was his seventh of the season. Jackson also has one triple-double and is averaging 15.7 points per game, 11.9 rebounds/game, 3.7 blocks/game and 2.2 assists per game.
The Panthers return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 17, hosting Fisher College of Mass. at 7:30 p.m. at the Clemente Center.
