BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of Brevard County government?

Citizens Academy is an eight-week course that explains how business is conducted here in Brevard County. Everything from Animal Services to Utilities will be covered. (Brevard County image)

For example, who decides which roads will be resurfaced, how does our landfill work, what really goes on at the jail, is orange really the new black, how does water get to the faucet or how are new developments planned?

If “Yes” was your answer to any of the above, the UF/Brevard County Extension Service Citizens Academy is for you.

CLASS MEETS FROM 9 A.M. TO NOON FRIDAY MORNINGS

Class will meet from 9 a.m. to noon Friday mornings at the UF/IFAS Extension Brevard County Cocoa office beginning Jan. 24. Field trips will occur on some Saturdays (dates to be determined.)
