Eastern Florida Softball Opens With a Sweep

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Eastern Florida softball pitchers sophomore Brooke Formby and freshman Dajia Jones surrendered a total of five hits to pace the Titans to a season-opening sweep on Saturday’s final day of the JUCO Kickoff Classic and Showcase in Clearwater.

Eastern Florida beat Lake-Sumter State College 10-1 in the opener as left-hander Formby allowed four hits and got offensive support from sophomore Bri Seaman who went 3-for-3 and Jones who went 3-for-4. (EFSC image)

Eastern Florida beat Lake-Sumter State College 10-1 in the opener as left-hander Formby allowed four hits and got offensive support from sophomore Bri Seaman who went 3-for-3 and Jones who went 3-for-4.

Jones allowed just one hit in a 9-1 victory over Kaskaskia College of Centralia, IL as sophomore Manya Lopez went 2-for-3.

FRIDAY’S GAMES FOR EFSC WERE RAINED OUT

Eastern Florida’s two scheduled games on Friday were rained out. The Titans open their home season with a 4 and 6 p.m. doubleheader against Seminole State College on the Palm Bay Campus. Admission is free.
