Merritt Island Girls Soccer Team In Final Tonight

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The Merritt Island High School’s girls soccer team (17-2-3)  defeated Matanzas 2-0 to advance to the FHSAA state championship game on Friday against the American Heritage Patriots (27-0-1).

Ally Wheble scored the first goal for the Mustangs. Wheble was assisted by Anna Gunning. Kayli Jacobs scored the second goal.

With the win, the Lady Mustangs will have a chance to win its second state championship since 2010. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. at Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne.
