BREVARD COUNTY • SATELLITE BEACH, FLORIDA – Seven employees will represent FirstWave Financial in the 4th Annual Corporate 5K  walk/run benefiting the United Way, scheduled for next Thursday, March 13.

RUNNING ZONE OWNERS: Don and Denise Piercy’s vision has grown into a significant enterprise that now includes multiple retail locations, a race management operation and a foundation which stages dozens of races annually in an effort to promote and encourage health and fitness through running, jogging, walking, educational programs and publications.
CORPORATE 5K PROMOTERS: Don and Denise Piercy’s vision has grown into a significant enterprise that now includes multiple retail locations, a race management operation and a foundation which stages dozens of races annually in an effort to promote and encourage health and fitness through running, jogging, walking, educational programs and publications.

The event is shaping up well for the employees of FirstWave Financial.  Before work begins at their Satellite Beach office, many of the “Wave Runners” start their morning with a vigorous workout at a nearby gym.  And the distinctive yellow office building with tropical-styling is filled with healthy snack alternatives to propel staff through the work day.

The Wave Runners are one of nearly 60 teams entered in the St. Paddy’s themed event, expected to draw over 1,000 individual runners by race day.

The five-kilometer Corporate 5K course will begin and end at FIT Aviation off Nasa Boulevard in Melbourne.  Following the 5K, runners will enjoy green beer, food and a live band at Brevard’s largest outdoor office party.

Tom Kirk, president and CEO of FirstWave Financial, is proud of his team, whether in the gym or in the office.

“Our FirstWave Financial team is a tremendous source of pride to me personally,” said Kirk.  “We are a very tight-knit group, and that allows us to provide ‘extreme client service’ like no one else. The decision to train and participate in this fundraiser for the United Way is more proof that this is a team of genuine winners.”
