No. 44 Florida Tech Downed by No. 4 Saint Leo, 5-1
No. 23Patrick Hernandez and Wade Ball won back-to-back matches in doubles No. 1 but No. 44 Florida Tech (6-11, 1-5 SSC) fell to No. 4 Saint Leo University (17-4, 3-3 SSC), 5-1, on Sunday afternoon at the DeSoto Tennis Courts.

The match was FIT’s final home contest of the season and the Panthers close out their 2013-14 regular season at No. 20 Rollins College (10-9, 3-2 SSC) tomorrow at 2 p.m.
Hernandez and Ball defeated Aloua Adjenak and Bruno Sisti, 9-8, to improve to 9-8 on the season.
In singles No.1, Hernandez split with No. 40 Adjenak, 2-6, 6-3, in their two sets and Ball was trailing, 4-6, 0-4, in singles No. 5.
Panthers in Fifth Place After First Round of SSC Championships
The No. 3 Florida Tech Panthers took the course at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club Sunday for the first round of the Sunshine State Conference Golf Championships.

The Panthers finished the first round in fifth place.
As a team, the Panthers turned in a first round score of 303.
Freshman Johanna Larsson provided fireworks for the Panthers with a hole-in-one on the fourth hole.

Larsson was one-over-par for the round with a 73. Sophomore Felicia Leftinger recorded a two-over-par round of 74.
Freshman Guro Rambjoer shot a first round 77, and junior Jara’ Templet recorded a 79. JuniorRachel Polson rounded out the scoring with a round of 80.
Men’s Golf in Fifth After First Round of SSC Championships
The No. 17 Florida Tech Panthers played the first round of the 2014 Sunshine State Conference Golf Championships Sunday afternoon.

The Panthers put a solid first round together, and sit in fifth place with two rounds to play.
The Panthers recorded a first round score of 294.
Junior Ray Badenhorst led the squad with a one-under-par 71.

Junior Justin Kalanquin was one-over-par with a 73.
Freshman Joe Ellis and juniorRyan Carter both shot rounds of 75, and freshman Brett Krog finished with a first round score of 82.
Panther Football Nike Apparel Available Online Until Sunday
With Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and the summer approaching, Florida Tech Football has launched a temporary online store with shirts, a hoodie, polo and hats that will close on Sunday, April 20.

All apparel is from Nike’s clothing line. Most of the items are unisex, but there are items specially designed for women, including a Dri-Fit shirt, a T-shirt and a hoodie. A youth Dri-Fit shirt is also available.
Orders will ship and will be delivered within 3-4 weeks after the store closes on April 20 pending product availability. A portion of the sales will benefit the Panther Football program.
