Health First Hospitals Collect 937 Pounds Of Medications On National Drug Take Back Day

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Three of Health First’s hospitals took part in National Drug Take Back Day and collected 937 pounds of expired and unwanted medications.

Three of Health First’s hospitals took part in National Drug Take Back Day and collected 937 pounds of expired and unwanted medications.

This massive collection was part of the National Drug Take Back day held on Saturday, April 26.

Health First worked with the Cocoa Beach Police Department, the Palm Bay Police Department and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office to provide a safe way to dispose of the medications.

The three participating Health First hospitals were Health First Cape Canaveral Hospital, Health First Palm Bay Hospital and Health First Viera Hospital.

All medications were turned over to the United States Drug Enforcement Administration for discarding.
