Melbourne Airport Authority Approves Magellan Project

MELBOURNE, FLORIDA -Melbourne Airport Authority’s board voted to approve a confidential space project known as “Magellan.”

With the vote, the airport will provide provide a ten year lease of 20 acres of property to the undisclosed company, which plans to construct a 200,000 square foot building and hiring 300 people by the end of 2015.

ECONOMIC IMPACT OF MAGELLAN 

According to Space Florida, the unknown company has said they will invest $500 million in real estate, equipment and furnishings between now and 2020. The company would also create 250 jobs by the end of this year, with some as high as $100,000.
