Swimmer Bitten By Shark Near Shepard Park

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – A swimmer was attacked by a shark and bitten on the foot this afternoon near Shepard Park, according to Brevard County Fire Rescue.
BCFR said that lifeguards assisted the victim, a 42-year-old German tourist, out of the water and then performed first aid before the victim was taken to Cape Canaveral Hospital for treatment.
According to witnesses, the shark was about 4 feet long, but the type is unknown.
