Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course Offered In North Brevard

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – North Area Parks Operations will offer a Lifeguard Training Course starting May 30.

The swimming portion of the class will be held at Titusville High School pool and the classroom portion will be held at Sandrift Community Center.

Class dates and times are as follows: May 30, 31, and June 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and June 2 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The cost is $250 and must be paid upon successful completion of a skills test on May 30 at 9 a.m. Class size is limited to 10 and pre-registration is required.

Interested candidates must be 15 years of age, able to swim 300 yards nonstop (freestyle and breaststroke), swim 20 yards, pick up a 10-pound object and return to the start point in 1 minute and 40 seconds and tread water with legs only for 2 minutes.

Registration for all aquatics activities is available at North Area Parks Operations office, 475 North Williams Avenue, Titusville, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
