BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Joe’s Club Intergenerational Program provides a meeting of the generations, the young and the seniors.
Recently, the De Laura Middle School choir presented a musical program for the members of Joe’s Club in Melbourne.
The students also delivered several quilts and pillowcases that were handmade by students in the home economics class. The students handed out song sheets and invited everyone to join them in singing some old favorites.
The senior club members thoroughly enjoyed visiting with the young people and were thrilled by the beauty of the colorful quilts and pillowcases.
Joe’s Club is a licensed Adult Day Service Center designed to provide social and health services to adults aged 18+ who need supervised care in a safe place outside the home during the day.
Professionally staffed with Nurses and CNA’s, Joe’s Club is designed to provide exemplary care and fun activities in a safe environment. Social interaction is the greatest benefit to Joe’s Club Adult Day Services, but we also focus on medical care and Alzheimer’s care.
About 50 percent of their members have some form of memory impairment and require assistance with daily living activities.
