BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The Space Coast Gator Club will hold it’s annual “Gator Gathering”, where the club will award $17,000 to deserving Brevard County students who will be attending the University of Florida in the fall.

The event will be held on June 14 at the Hilton Melbourne Beach at 6 p.m.

“The keynote speaker this year will be former Gator player and television broadcaster Brady Ackerman,” said a release from the Space Coast Gator Club.  

“Brady was a running back at the University of Florida from 1987-1991. He was a member of the first official SEC football championship team in 1991. He also works for the Gator Radio Network as the pre / post game host as well as the sideline reporter for all Florida football games. He will be previewing the 2014 Florida football season for the attendees.”

The night begins out on the ocean deck with steel drum music and hor d’oeuvres, followed by a sit down dinner, speaker presentation and the awarding of the scholarships.

There will be a silent auction, raffle and Gator vendors will be on hand for shopping for clothing and collectables.

CLUB HAS DONATED OVER $100,000 TO BREVARD COUNTY STUDENTS

With $17,000 in scholarships given out this year the Space Coast Gator Club has given out over $100,000 to local Brevard County students attending the University of Florida.

The Space Coast Gator Club is an affiliate of the University of Florida Alumni Association and is a 501 (c) 3 not for profit organization. The Brevard chapter is the eleventh largest Gator Club in the world.

SPACE-COAST-GATOR-CLUB-180“Our primary goal is to provide scholarship money to local Brevard County students entering the University of Florida. All of the money we raise at our events goes into this fund.”

There are 100 Gator Clubs worldwide – 36 in the State of Florida, 54 out-of-state clubs, and 10 international clubs.  Brevard County is the home of over 7000 UF alumni, 1500 students, and thousands of Gator fans.

The Space Coast Gator Club is committed to providing events for all Brevard Gators, and offers everything from Young Alumni programs to networking opportunities, volunteer work and community service, football and basketball viewing parties, happy hours, and family activities.
