BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – The game on Sunday between the Brevard County Manatees and Clearwater Threshers at Space Coast Stadium was suspended due to rain.
Cliff Lee of the Philadelphia Phillies, pitching for the Clearwater Threshers on a rehab assignment, threw two scoreless innings before play was suspended in the top of the third inning.
“I felt fine,” Lee said after the game. “I threw two cutters and everything else was a fastball. You could see the weather coming, so I was trying to hurry.”
The game was suspended with Clearwater leading, 2-0, and will be resumed Monday at 5:05 p.m.
A regulation seven-inning game will start approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the suspended game.
The second game of Sunday’s scheduled doubleheader was postponed and will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, August 9 at Space Coast Stadium. First pitch will be at 5:05 p.m.
Fans who had tickets to Saturday’s game can hold on to their tickets and exchange them at the Space Coast Stadium Box Office for a ticket of equal or lesser value to a future 2014 Brevard County Manatees home game, based on availability.
