BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The City of Cocoa Office of Economic Development has a number of free upcoming workshops for the local business community. 

SCHEDULED WORKSHOPS INCLUDE:

•emergency-preparedness Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 10 – 11 a.m. at Cocoa City Council Chambers, 65 Stone Street: Emergency Preparedness – Held in conjunction with the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce and Brevard County Emergency Management, this workshop will give business owners the tools they need to be proactive in safeguarding their business.  Learn from a Brevard County Emergency Management expert about what steps can be taken to protect your business in the event of a disaster.

• Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 10 a.m. -1 2 p.m. at Cocoa City Council Chambers, 65 Stone Street: Business Etiquette in a Global Business Environment – From meeting and greeting clients to speaking and writing professional messages, this workshop will guide participants through social, cultural, and generational underpinnings to help them understand the finer aspects of business etiquette in a global business environment.

BUSINESS-180-1• Monday, September 15, 22, and 29, 2014 from 2 – 4:30 p.m. at Zion Orthodox Primitive Baptist Church, 715 S. Fiske Boulevard, Cocoa: Job Seekers Workshop – Hosted by the City of Cocoa and CareerSource Brevard.  Session 1 (Sept 15) – Navigating Employ Florida Marketplace; Session 2 (Sept 22) – Resume Building; Session 3 (Sept 29) – Interview Skills and Presentation.

• Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Clearlake Education Center, 1225 Clearlake Road: 2ndAnnual Cocoa Job Fair – Job Seekers: We strongly encourage that you bring your resume and dress in business casual attire; Employers: If you are interested in participating, contact the Office of Economic Development to reserve a table no later than Friday, October 10, 2014.  There were over 400 job seekers at last year’s event and 19 employers.
