Davis, a 6-foot-9 forward from Warren, Ohio, averaged 10.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game in 19 games as Eastern Florida went 24-7 and won its second consecutive Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference title last season.
Donnie Jones
“We were certainly looking to fill a spot, and we were fortunate to come across Shaheed,” UCF head coach Donnie Jones said.
“We love his versatility, his length, and in our system he has the ability to be great in the press and in the open floor.”
Davis initially committed to Middle Tennessee State.
“I love the experience that he has coming in as a junior,” Jones said. “He has played a couple of years already, and he’s been very well coached. Shaheed also has a very high basketball IQ, which always helps.”
In the last three years 16 former Titans — all coached by Shulman — have signed to continue their basketball careers at the Division I level.
Former Titan Isaac Lang made the UCF roster as a walk-on before the 2012-13 campaign and played two seasons.
Jeremy Shulman
“We are very excited about Shaheed’s decision to sign with UCF,” said Eastern Florida head coach Jeremy Shulman.
“Coach Donnie Jones runs a great program there, and really worked hard for Shaheed. Shaheed has an opportunity to come in and play right away, and be a major impact player for the Knights. Combine that with the location in Florida, and this seems like a perfect fit.”
