Dr. Pelayo joined Space Coast Cancer Center practice in 2011 and cares for patients at the Titusville Cancer Center, Merritt Island Cancer Center, Viera Cancer Center and Melbourne office.

Dr. Pelayo graduated from the University Central del Caribe, a United States accredited school in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Dr. Pelayo completed his fellowship training in Hematology and Oncology at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Florida.

He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Dr. Pelayo is fluent in both English and Spanish Dr. Pelayo has privileges at Parrish Medical Center, Wuesthoff Rockledge/ Melbourne, Cape Canaveral Hospital, Viera Hospital and Holmes Regional Medical Center.

Space Coast Cancer Center is Florida’s first practice and only cancer center in Brevard county to be recognized by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI), a certification program of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).

The QOPI Certification Program is an initiative to certify oncology practices that meet rigorous standards for the highest quality of cancer care.
