Admission to the scrimmage is free and all local soccer fans and club teams are invited to attend, said Eastern Florida’s Associate Vice President of Athletics and head women’s soccer coach Jeff Carr.

Miami serves as the training base for the Jamaican Women’s National Team known as the Reggae Girlz as they continue their effort to qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada in 2015.

“We understandably are very excited about hosting the Jamaican National Team,” Carr said.

“What great exposure for the college, our players, our program and our great facility.”

Eastern Florida’s one-year old soccer facility already is host for November’s NJCAA Women’s Division I National Championship Tournament through 2016 and will host the FHSAA girls and boys state championships for the second straight year in February.

“One of the first things the Jamaican National Representative said to me when they called was we have heard about your field and would love to come up and play you,” Carr said.

“We are hoping for a great turnout from East Central Florida soccer fans,” Carr said. “What a treat to get to see an international-level team play here.”
