“The Children’s Hunger Project is a 501 (c) (3) charity that provides packages of food for children on weekends during the school year. These are kids that teachers know are coming to school hungry on Monday mornings.” said  Executive Director and Founder, Bob Barnes.

“I came to realize that the hunger and malnutrition problem with young kids in Brevard County is a silent epidemic of almost monumental proportions. In Brevard County the number of children participating in the free and reduced-price lunch program is almost 50%. When you compare this to the national average, which is 17%, you can start to appreciate the gravity of the local situation. While a free breakfast and lunch are available at school, significant numbers of our kids are going hungry on weekends.”

Organizers are planning a schedule of events and activities including, but not limited to: custom trike show, skills challenge, poker run and organized rides. In addition there will be vendors, exhibitors, music, entertainment plus food and beverage.

And the best part- this is a free event open to all bike enthusiasts with a family friendly atmosphere for all to enjoy.

Organized and produced by Rocket Out Productions, LLC, the company plans to produce two events a year at the Park.

rocketoutproductions-logo0180“We are marketing this as a regional event targeting Daytona Beach to West Palm Beach and over to Orlando. Next year it will be promoted statewide. After that- the sky is the limit.” said Vice-President of Marketing, Fern Adams.

“We are delighted to participate in such a large event that will raise awareness of good things available in the Titusville area. Because of strong community support in Titusville, we hope to expand our backpack program to their elementary schools in the very near future.”
