GOOD MORNING, SURFERS!

SURF REPORT FOR AUG. 29 – SEPT. 1, 2014

FRIDAY: Waves early this morning are running in the thigh- to waist-high range with semi-clean lines from a southeasterly breeze.
SATURDAY: The surf will decrease into the mostly thigh-high range with semi-bumpy conditions from a light southeasterly breeze.
SUNDAY: Weak easterly groundswell will push wave heights back up into the waist-high range with bumpy conditions from a southeasterly wind.
MONDAY: Surf heights should average thigh- to waist-high with semi-bumpy conditions for Labor Day.
Ocean water temperatures remain in the lower 80s. Don’t forget to wear a rashguard and apply sunscreen.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Bob Freeman has been surfing Brevard’s waves since 1966. He was also the first to surf several of North Carolina’s remote islands in the mid ’60s and travels frequently to surf in Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Mexico and Hawaii. He provided his first surf reporting and weekend forecasts in 1968 live on WKKO radio from the RonJon Surf Shop on Cocoa Beach Pier. He was the 1968 Florida Men’s Surfing Champion and is the current Florida Legend’s Surfing Champion. He has gathered over 300 amateur 1st place awards in both shortboard and longboard divisions. He is a 2014 Inductee into the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame.
