Melbourne Man Run Over, Killed In Osceola County

FHP INVESTIGATING INCIDENT
OSCEOLA COUNTY, FLORIDA — Edward H. Johnson, 26 of Melbourne was struck and killed by a driver on Vineland Rd in Osceola County on Thursday morning.
According to Florida Highway Patrol’s public information officer Kim Montes, a black 2007 Madza SUV was traveling south in the inside travel lane on Vineland Road, north of North Poinciana Boulevard when Johnson was standing in the inside travel lane on State Road 535, attempting to retrieve an item that fell out of the car he was traveling in.
The front of the SUV struck Johnson and propelled him south. Johnson came to final rest in the center and inside travel lanes on State Road 535. After the impact, the SUV fled the scene. Just before 7:00 am, troopers located a possible suspect vehicle in Osceola County. The vehicle that has been located is a Black, Mazda SUV. This crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
