Crafts, Food, Screenings at Free Community Event Oct. 4
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — Florida Institute of Technology’s Scott Center for Autism Treatment turns 5-years-old this year and is holding a celebration Oct. 4 that will feature food, crafts from Foosaner Art Museum, a bounce house and a host of health pre-screenings for children and adults.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Scott Center, 150 W. University Blvd. on Florida Tech’s Melbourne campus. It is free and open to the public. Registration is not required.

“I have seen the Scott Center grow from an idea discussed around our table to a thriving, essential part of our community,” said Mary Beth Kenkel, dean of the College of Psychology and Liberal Arts at Florida Tech.
“I have seen the hard work that made the center’s growth and success possible. And I am excited about what the future holds, as we grow beyond our Brevard roots into Indian River County, Orlando and beyond.”
Experts will offer pre-screenings in several areas, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Early Intervention services, depression and ADHD for adults and children, as well as couples therapy, adult grief and bereavement, behavior problems, social skills and childhood mood and behavioral concerns.
