BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The West Melbourne police are searching for a suspect who assaulted and robbed a man walking on Doherty Drive on Wednesday night.

According to the West Melbourne police, the suspect approached the 41-year-old victim and asked if he had any spare change. When the victim took money from his pocket, the suspect reached for the money and a struggle ensued.

The victim told police that he he had been cut in the abdominal area, and he was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
