One Person Airlifted After Traffic Accident In Rockledge

BREAKING-NEWS-SCD-180-13ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA — One person was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center after two cars collided near the intersection of US 1, Eyster Boulevard and Scott Lane in Rockledge.

According to Rockledge Police Department’s Public Information Officer Donna Seyferth, the accident occurred when  the driver of a Ford Mustang ran a red light in the northbound lane of US 1 and  struck a white Toyota Avalon that was attempting to make a left-hand turn. A passenger in the Mustang suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to HRMC.
No other serious injuries were reported. Northound traffic on U.S.1 is temporarily closed in the area but expected to reopen Thursday afternoon.
