BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Detectives with Palm Bay Police Department’s Major Case Unit are currently on scene at the 3300 block of Wedgewood Drive NE in Lighthouse Point Apartments, according to Yvonne Martinez, City of Palm Bay Public Information Coordinator.

Detectives with Palm Bay Police Department’s Major Case Unit are currently on scene at the 3300 block of Wedgewood Drive NE in Lighthouse Point Apartments, according to Yvonne Martinez, City of Palm Bay Public Information Coordinator.

“Officers had been notified of a female who was brought to a local hospital  with a head injury,” said Martinez in a release.  

“Through the course of the initial investigation it appeared there was a domestic violence incident between a male and female which led to the female’s injuries.”

The male is cooperating with detectives and said the female attacked him physically after a verbal argument, and he struck her in self defense.

A search warrant is being sought to collect any potential evidence from the apartment. The names are currently being withheld to preserve the integrity of the investigation.
