EXPECTED TO REOPEN THURSDAY MORNING

BREVARD COUNTY • PORT ST. JOHN – Southbound U.S. 1 was closed at Palm Street in Port St. John on Wednesday evening until further notice as a result of a 6-foot sinkhole. The northbound lanes remain open.

Motorists will find some streets and lanes closed Sunday afternoon in Palm Bay because of the 18th annual Puerto Rican Day Parade. (Shutterstock image)

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the closure is currently a construction area, as part of the southbound lanes washed out and need to be repaved.

Crews expect to have the repairs made by tomorrow morning.
