Don Hatt Selected EDC Volunteer of the Year

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Donald R. Hatt has been selected by the Economic Development Commission (EDC) of Florida’s Space Coast as its Volunteer of the Year. The award was presented to Hatt at the EDC’s Annual Meeting held October 15 in Melbourne Beach.

Hatt, a Chartworth Advisory Principal, has been an active volunteer with the EDC since relocating to the Space Coast in early 2011. Chartworth LLC provides financial advisory, management consulting, corporate finance and investment banking services to include mergers and acquisitions and capital raising.

One of his recent projects involved the BrevardWorks Committee, which was organized to educate and promote the renewal of Brevard County’s Ad Valorem Tax abatement program. Hatt also served as Chair of the BrevardWorks Fundraising Subcommittee.

During his acceptance speech, Hatt indicated his preference to accept the award on behalf of all volunteers who take their responsibilities very seriously to “give back to their communities in general and the EDC in particular,” and he highlighted his role as being a “utility fielder” for EDC President & CEO Lynda Weatherman.

Hatt has served in CEO, COO and CFO roles within the New England banking community in addition to having 10 years experience within the investment banking industry. He divides his time between Florida and New England based clients.
