BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida’s men’s basketball team came into Wednesday’s game against Red Devils Academy as the third-ranked team in Florida and it showed.

The Titans dominated the Red Devils from Daytona Beach from the opening tip and cruised to a 104-43 victory on the Melbourne Campus to improve to 5-1.

The victory was the 94th for head coach Jeremy Shulman at EFSC and the 33rd straight at home for the Titans. Freshman Djordje Beronja led EFSC with 32 points, 24 in the first half as the Titans built a 54-21 lead.

Sophomore Payton Hulsey added 18 and classmates Demetrius McReynolds and Kyle Meyer 15 and 13 points respectively.

“We used this as a chance to get better and I thought we got better,” Shulman said. “I thought we got better defensively except for giving up some free throws late. This team scored 77 points against a really good Florida JUCO and we held them to 43. Until late I thought we were going to keep them at about 35, 36.

“Offensively it’s hard to do anything and get better offensively in a game like this. But it was an effort thing, it was a mentality thing, learning to execute.”

The Titans have played two home games thus far and scored 209 points while allowing 85.
