BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – By finishing among the top 25 runners at the NCAA Division II South Region Championship in New Market, Alabama last Saturday, Florida Tech’s Justin McMaster was awarded all-south region on Wednesday.

The honor, his second of his cross country career, was bestowed by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

McMaster, a graduate student majoring in space systems, qualified for next Saturday’s NCAA Division II Championship in Louisville, Kentucky by finishing sixth in the men’s 10K at the regional championship. He timed in at 32:51.79.

The appearance will be McMaster’s second in three years. He last qualified in 2012 when FIT went as a team for the first time in program history.

The all-south region honor is McMaster’s second in as many seasons. Last year, he garnered the award after placing 22nd in the regional championship at 34:12.90.
