BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech junior Corbin Jackson was chosen Sunshine State Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the fourth time in his two-year Panther career on Monday.

He won the conference’s first weekly award of the season by leading the Panthers to a 2-0 start at the NCAA South Regional Tip-Off Challenge hosted by Clark Atlanta in Georgia. He averaged 20.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, six blocks, two assists and a steal in the two victories.

In the season opener against Paine on Friday, Jackson helped his team rally from a 19-point deficit by contributing 18 points with 12 rebounds, six blocks, three assists and one steal, while playing all 40 minutes.

He had an even better day on Saturday against Clark Atlanta. Once again, in 40 minutes of action, he scored 22 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. He once again swatted away six shots and contributed one assist with one steal.

Jackson and the Panthers open a five-game homestand on Saturday against Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras at 7 p.m. at the Clemente Center.
