McMaster, Wilson Selected Panther Athletes of the Week

FLORIDA TECH ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech graduate student Justin McMaster and senior Kayk Wilson have been named this week’s Panther Student-Athletes of the Week, announced on Monday.
McMaster, a native of Horseheads, New York, placed sixth in the 10K at the NCAA Division II South Region Championships on Saturday at 32:51.79. He last qualified for the national race when Florida Tech qualified as a team for the first time in program history in 2012.
Wilson, chosen Sunshine State Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, averaged 32.0 points, 4.5 steals, 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds in two wins last week.
The Rockledge, Florida product poured in a game-high 28 points, including 11-of-14 from the free throw line in FIT’s 87-75 win over Palm Beach Atlantic on Tuesday. She then tied her career-high with 36 points in the Panthers’ 83-71 victory over Fort Valley State on Saturday.
McMaster will represent FIT at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Dec. 6 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Wilson and the Panthers will host Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras in their home opener on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Clemente Center.
