Melbourne Police Identify Victim of Aggravated Battery

The Melbourne Police Department has identified Jonathan Touchton, 36, as the victim involved in the altercation near Debauchery, a Downtown Melbourne bar, located at 807 East New Haven Avenue.

According to police, witnesses said Touchton, a resident of Rockledge, was knocked to the ground during the incident and consequently struck the back of his head on the concrete surface.  The resulting injury caused him to lose consciousness.

Touchton was transported to the local trauma center where he remains in critical, but stable condition. 

Melbourne Police Investigators are actively interviewing witnesses and encourage anyone who may have seen the incident to contact them.

Melbourne Police Seek Aggravated Battery Suspect

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – An incident early Sunday morning at about 2 a.m. in the downtown area of Melbourne resulted in a man being struck in the 800 block of East New Haven, according to the Melbourne Police Department. (Map above)

As a result of the blow, the victim fell to the ground and suffered a serious head injury.

The Melbourne Police Department is currently investigating this incident, and the victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and further investigation.
