Titan Women Improve to 4-2 With Overtime Victory

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Freshman Nene Johnson hit a game-tying layup as time expired and then hit two free throws to give Eastern Florida’s women’s basketball team the lead as the Titans defeated Roane State of Tennessee 68-66 in overtime on Friday.

Playing in the GPC Thanksgiving Classic in Decatur, Georgia, EFSC improved to 4-2. Roane State fell to 4-2, ending a four-game winning streak.

EFSC led at halftime 27-18 and Johnson’s layup tied the score at 61-61 at the end of regulation.

Johnson led EFSC with 19 points and added four assists. Sophomore Jessica Doyle added 12 points for the Titans.

EFSC plays Central Georgia Tech at 4 p.m. Saturday.
