FHP Arrests Woman For DUI After Hit-and-Run Crash

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol Troopers arrested Sally Quirk, 32, of Rockledge on Monday night after a hit-and-run incident at the intersection of State Road 520 and Banana River Drive on Merritt Island.

According to FHP, Quirk hit 17-year-old Sharon Kirk of Cocoa Beach, and fled the scene before getting in another crash, which then injured Quirk’s daughters, ages 4 and 5, who were passengers.
The Quirk children were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover. Kirk was airlifted to Homes Regional Medical Center in serious condition.
Quirk, who registered 0.232 percent during a a blood-alcohol test, according to FHP, was charged with Child Endangerment, Driving Under the Influence, Leaving the Scene of a Crash and Running a Red Light. She is currently in the Brevard County Jail.
