Panthers Serve Up Florida Tech Open Saturday

Singles and Doubles play starts Saturday
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech men’s tennis will play in the Florida Tech Open at the Florida Tech Tennis Courts located off Country Club Road.
The competition will feature singles and doubles play from Saturday, Jan. 10 to Sunday, Jan. 11. Matches will be played in round robin or double elimination format, depending on draw sizes.
The event will begin at 8 a.m. each day, and start times will be available by calling tennis coach Bill Macom at 321-674-7181 after 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 9.
Macom, Florida Tech head men’s and women’s tennis coach, began his 10th season at FIT in the fall of 2014.
Macom concluded the 2014 spring season with 365 career wins at the college level — 227 coming at Florida Tech.
Since he came onboard, he has built the tennis program into national contenders.
Macom collected his 300th career win at the college level in spring 2012.
In 2014, the women’s tennis team won Florida Tech’s Female Team GPA Award with a 3.48 cumulative GPA.
