ROAD CLOSURES BEGIN FEB. 2

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Starting the week of February 2, the Sebastian Inlet Bridge will undergo intermittent full closures that may last up to 30 minutes at a time Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
These closures are necessary to demolish the south fishing pier located under the Sebastian Inlet Bridge, and are anticipated to last one week.
To avoid possible delays, motorists travelling north or south on SR A1A are encouraged to utilize U.S. 1 by detouring at either Wabasso Bridge (SR 510) in Indian River County or Melbourne Causeway in Brevard County.
Variable message signs are currently in place at the approach to these bridges to notify motorists of the intermittent closures.
The fishing pier reconstruction is part of the $1.63 million Sebastian Inlet Bridge maintenance and rehabilitation project on SR A1A, over the Sebastian Inlet in Indian River and Brevard Counties.
Work for this project includes improvements include concrete spall repairs of the bridge deck and beams and replacing the north and south fishing piers.
