SUV Crashes Into Storefront In West Melbourne

BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A West Melbourne store front was damaged Sunday at about 5:45 p.m. after a woman drove a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer SUV through the glass windows of the store, according to police.

According to the West Melbourne Police, the driver pulled into a parking space in front of the Vitamin Shoppe store located at 1653 W. New Haven Avenue, and told police she thought that the vehicle was in “park.”

The driver felt her SUV move forward and became panicked, and then accelerated, causing the vehicle to jump the curb and through the store front glass windows panes.

Although the store was occupied at the time of the crash, no one was injured inside.

None of the vehicle’s three passengers were injured.
