Hergott leads team with 4-0 record in singles

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Following a couple of tough defeats, Florida Tech women’s tennis returns home with hopes of getting back in the win column.

The Panthers will open the conference season when No. 1 Barry comes to town for a 10:30 a.m. match at DeSoto Park in Satellite Beach.

FIT will return to Satellite Beach the very next day for another 10:30 a.m. contest, this time with No. 15 Valdosta State.

So far on the young dual season, freshman Kayla Hergott leads the team with a perfect 4-0 record in singles. Additionally, Mariana Castaneiras, Chloe Chanley and Erin Egoroff have begun the spring schedule with a 3-1 singles mark. In total, FIT is 18-6 in singles competition.

Thus far on the season, the Buccaneers are 1-0 with a victory over Palm Beach Atlantic. The Blazers come to the Space Coast with a 2-1 record with wins over West Georgia and Lee.
