The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested 23-year-old Joshua Tatro of 1460 Fiddler Avenue, Merritt Island, for sexually battering an infant and videotaping the incidents, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
Charged With 3 Counts of Capital Sexual Battery, 3 Counts of Production of Child Pornography and 1 Count of Possession of Child Pornography
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested 23-year-old Joshua Tatro of 1460 Fiddler Avenue, Merritt Island, for sexually battering an infant and videotaping the incidents, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
Tatro was charged with 3 counts of Capital Sexual Battery, 3 counts of Production of Child Pornography and 1 count of Possession of Child Pornography. He is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail with No Bond status.
According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began after they received information from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children that images of child pornography had been uploaded and shared on the internet from an unknown location in Brevard County.
During the search, forensic examiners recovered videos from electronic media belonging to Tatro that contained movie files depicting Tatro engaging in sexual activities with an infant.
Sheriff’s investigators of the Sexual Offender Registration and Tracking (SORT) Unit researched the images and identified the residence where they had been uploaded.
After conducting surveillance at the residence in preparation of the search warrant, investigators observed an individual later identified as Joshua Tatro entering the residence with an infant, according to Sheriff’s investigators.
A search warrant was immediately obtained and served at the residence.
The evidence seized additionally led investigators to the infant depicted in the images.
Agents located and transported the child for medical attention.
The investigation is still ongoing as detectives further examine the evidence seized during the search warrant and could result in additional charges.

“I am very grateful for the agents and advocates who work around the clock to not only identify those who would exploit and harm someone so innocent and vulnerable, but to additionally locate and save those precious children from further abuse,” said Sheriff Wayne Ivey.
“I can only hope that justice is served and those who are responsible for such horrific crimes are placed deep within the confines of prison where they can never victimize anyone again.”
It is not known if there are other victims, the Sheriff’s Office is requesting that any person who has information in reference to any child who may have been in contact with Tatro to contact the Sheriff’s Office SORT Unit.
