FHP Identifies Victim In Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Jerome Blake, 69, of Cocoa killed Friday in crash
UPDATE: March 21, 2015, 10:50 a.m.
Jerome Blake, 69, of Cocoa has been identified by the Florida Highway Patrol as the man killed, and Sharon Fletcher, 56, of Melbourne as the woman who was critically injured while riding a 2012 Honda motorcycle in the incident that occurred Friday morning at about 11:45 a.m.
Fletcher was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Marissa Carroll, 22, of Cocoa was traveling northbound on Lake Poinsett Road in a 2000 Toyota as the Honda motorcycle was traveling westbound on State Road 520, in the right through lane.
Carroll attempted to cross all lanes of State Road 520, and pulled into the direct path of the motorcycle.
Neither victim on the motorcycle were wearing helmets.
According to FHP, the crash is under investigation and charges are pending.

Fatal Motorcycle Crash Blocks SR 520 At Friday Road
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol Troopers have just arrived on scene of a fatal crash on State Road 520 and Friday Road that occurred at about 11:45 a.m.
The crash involves a motorcycle, and the Florida Highway Patrol reports one victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
State Road 520 is blocked in both directions at this time, according to FHP.
Troopers are on scene investigating the crash.
