BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Dr. Maxwell C. King, one of Brevard’s most-ever prolific philanthropic leaders, is at it again as he joins the Board of Directors of the Doctors’ Goodwill Foundation to assist the worthy nonprofit to grow and help more people.

DGF-LOGO-15-180-1King is a legendary Brevard County visionary and philanthropist who has inspired thousands to achieve their goals through the pursuit of higher education and was honored with the 2014 Central Florida Humanitarian Lifetime Achievement Award last November.

He embraced volunteerism with the same fervor and dedication that he approached his incredible career in education.

In James Ross’ biography of King, “The Only Way to Lead,” King’s wife, Doris, is quoted as saying that “Max wakes up every morning, showers, puts on his suit and goes off to volunteer.”

“I am honored to join the board of the Doctors’ Goodwill Foundation as they expand their efforts to assist those in need. They are a great group of people,” said Dr. King.

At an age when most people are sitting on the porch or playing golf enjoying a leisurely lifestyle, Dr. King is still looking for ways to make a difference in other people’s lives.

“Dr. King is an inspiration and is surely one of the greatest leaders that Brevard has ever had, or will have,” said Doctors’ Goodwill Foundation Founder Dr. Kanti Bhalani.

“We are so humbled and honored that Dr. King has agreed to join our DGF Board, and we are very excited about working with him to help more people in need in the future.”

The Doctors’ Goodwill Foundation’s initial mission was simple….to help physicians and healthcare workers who gave of their time and expertise on various missions throughout the world.

Since it’s inception, the Doctors Goodwill Foundation has raised more than $1,500,000 for charities both in Brevard and around the world.

One of Brevard’s most prolific philanthropic organizations, the DGF’s mission is to provide medical assistance in Brevard and around the world to those in need, and offer scholarships to students pursuing a career in health care.

The Doctors Goodwill Foundation is led by some of the most active and philanthropically-minded members of the Brevard medical community, including executive officers Kantilal Bhalani MD (founder), Ashish Udeshi (president), Naren Shah, MS, SCORE (executive director), Kiran Modi, MD (treasurer), Sumant Pandya, MD (chairperson), and Denis Perez, MD (secretary).

Malone has helped Brevard County become a national leader in youth soccer and spring training for College and high school teams.  He was inducted into the United Soccer Leagues Hall of Fame being recognized as one of the main builders of the game in the region.

As a founding member of the Space Coast Sports Commission in 1987, Malone has been instrumental in building the Space Coast as a premier destination for youth and amateur sports events which have had a profound effect on the business of sports tourism on the Space Coast. For more than 26 years, thousands of teams have participated in sports events created and produced by Malone’s sports management team, creating millions of dollars for the local tourism economy.

As co-founder and partner of independent publishing house – Maverick Multimedia Inc., Malone has worked with Tom and Jim Palermo to create and develop high-quality,  publications like Space Coast Medicine & Active Living magazine,  CentralFloridaMedicine.com and SpaceCoastDaily.com.

Malone is co-founder of Brevard Production Inc., an organization that owns and produces some of the most significant and compelling annual special events in Central Florida, including the Central Florida Humanitarian Awards, the Space Coast State Fair, Cocoa Beach Spring Training, the Space Coast Spring Fair, The Space Coast Hall Of Fame, The Palm Bay Fairs, Space Coast Medicine Week, Space Coast Home Shows, Space Coast Health Fair and many more.

While volunteering for numerous organizations within his community for 29 years , Giles has served as Chairman of the Space Coast Tourism Development Council, President of the Space Coast Sports Commission, Board Member of the Brevard County Environmentally Endangered Lands Committee, Board Member of the Beaches and Shores Beach Preservation Society, Board Member of the Board of Trustees of the Florida Tech Business School, Chairman of the Space Coast State Fair, Founding member of the Space Coast Sports Hall Of Fame and as a Board Member of the Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Central Florida.

Giles earned a B.A in Finance from The University of Louisiana (1984) and an M.B.A from Florida Tech (1986). Giles and his wife Alison have been married for 25 years and have four children – Megan, Victoria, Michael and Grace.
