One Wounded In Merritt Island Shooting

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – A shooting victim suffered serious, but not life-threatening injury, during an incident that occurred on Palmetto Avenue in Merritt Island at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
The victim sustained a single gunshot wound and was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting, and according to a release from the Sheriff’s Department, Agents believe that the suspect is known to the victim.
The incident is considered isolated, and possibly drug related, and witnesses to the incident are being questioned by Sheriff’s Agents.
