Kaká Scores Orlando City SC’s First-Ever Goal On Free Kick To Even Score For 1-1 Draw
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – Orlando City SC opened its inaugural Major League Soccer season with a 1-1 draw at home against New York City FC on Sunday with 62,510 fans in attendance at the Orlando Citrus Bowl.
It was among the largest crowds ever for a Major League Soccer match, which was founded in 1996.
The Club’s historic fixture was televised on ESPN2 and SpaceCoastDaily.com was there to capture the action.
In addition, Orlando City’s first league game as a Major League Soccer Club was broadcast worldwide in more than 30 languages, and in over 100 countries.
The match also marks the first of 16 nationally televised games scheduled for Orlando in 2015.
Opening the low scoring match was New York FC midfielder Mix Diskerud to make the score 1-0. Kaká the scored on a free kick for Orlando City SC, to make the score 1-1.
