BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s tennis team closed out its season Saturday, finishing fifth at the Florida College System Activities Association/NJCAA Region 8 tournament at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs.

Sophomore Isabella Sella lost her No. 3 singles championship match 6-1, 6-1 to Sarah Peek of State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota.
The doubles team of Nicole Trio and Alexandra Andrews picked up a half-point by winning their match in the back feed of the tournament by forfeit.
EFSC finished with 5½ points, the most in program history at the state tournament. The fifth-place finish was also a program best.

“We looked good in singles, but when the doubles came around, we didn’t fare too (well),” Titans coach Wally Norwich said.
State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota won the tournament.
The Titans finished 4-9 overall, setting a school record for most wins in a season.
“The bottom line is we improved a lot from last year,” Norwich said. “They were happy.”
