Eight Panthers Named To PBC Track & Field All-Academic Teams

Panthers compete in the conference championship on April 16-18 in Alabama

On Thursday, the Peach Belt Conference announced its men’s and women’s all-academic teams, with Florida Tech being represented by five male and three female student-athletes.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Peach Belt Conference announced its men’s and women’s all-academic teams, with Florida Tech being represented by five male and three female student-athletes.

Thad Berger, Nick Knowles, Nicholas Lenssen, Matthew Pogorelec and Daniel Schultz were selected to the 2014-15 Men’s Track & Field All-Academic Team.

Shannon Hyland, Amanda Sava and Alyson Vezina were named to the 2014-15 Women’s Track & Field All-Academic Team.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team’s events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.

This is Florida Tech’s first season as a member of the PBC.

The Panthers will compete in the conference championship on April 16-18 in Montevallo, Alabama.
