Florida Tech Enters Monday 12-7 on the year

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech women’s tennis (12-7, 1-3 SSC) will have its hands full Monday afternoon, battling No. 5 Saint Leo (13-3, 3-1 SSC) at the Saint Leo Tennis Complex.

Prior to falling to No. 6 Lynn last Tuesday, the Panthers had strung together four consecutive sweeps. Freshman Kayla Hergott leads the Panthers during the duals season with a 15-4 record.

Fellow newcomers Mariana Castaneiras and Erin Egoroff aren’t far behind with 14 and 13 singles wins, respectively.

In doubles, Natasa Vukovic and Katie Close spearhead the FIT lineup with a dominant 9-1 record. Egoroff and Hergott have also proven to be a formidable duo, accumulating a 6-3 mark during the season.

The Lions come into the match ranked No. 5 in the nation and No. 3 in the South Region.

Isabella Robbiani is rated 14th in Division II. Robbiani also teams with Maria Benkirane to make the eighth ranked doubles team in the country.

Saint Leo boasts three regionally ranked players in Bobbiani, Anastasia Wagner and Benkirane.

As a doubles team, Robbiani and Benkirane are ranked No. 2 in the South Region.
