Florida Tech Tennis Falls To No. 5 Saint Leo 7-2

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech women’s tennis (12-8, 1-4 SSC) performed admirably Monday afternoon but was eventually overtaken by No. 5 Saint Leo (13-3, 3-1 SSC) at the Saint Leo Tennis Complex.

The Panthers fell behind early, trailing Saint Leo 2-1 after doubles competition.

Natasa Vukovic and Chloe Chanley defeated Anastasia Wagner and Maria Benkirane 8-4 at the No. 1 spot.

Erin Egoroff was the only Panther to record a singles victory, outlasting Gabrielle Paul 7-5, 5-7, 10-4 in the No. 5 match.

At No. 1, Vukovic gave Isabella Robbiani a run but was bested by the 14th ranked player in the nation 6-3, 6-4.

FIT competes next on Saturday by travelling to Winter Park, Florida for another SSC battle, this time with the Tars of Rollins. The match will be at 1 p.m. ET.
