Motorcyclist Killed In Fatal Crash

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. on US 1 near Micco Road which involved a motorcycle and a 2000 Ford pickup truck.
According to Florida Highway Patrol investigators, Gerald Schall, 66, from Elderton, Pennsylvania was the driver of the motorcycle, and died as a result of his injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.
Schall was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, where he died after he had arrived at the hospital.
Alberto Romero-Lizardi, 39, of Vero Beach, Florida was driving the pickup truck.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Schall was traveling southbound along US 1 on his 1997 Harley Davidson motorcycle and was approaching Micco Road as the truck was traveling northbound.
The motorcycle attempted to make a U-turn to travel northbound along US 1 and that was when the truck collided with the motorcycle.
The crash remains under investigation, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
